The southern tip of Tromso, also known as Sydspissen, is the starting point for one of the most challenging hiking routes in the region. You cover 17.5 km and hike through numerous different environments. You reach Sydspissen by public transport and then follow the east coast to the bridge to Tromsdalen.
Although the summit route to Hesten is only 3.9 km long, you should plan for more than two hours for the hike. The paths are mostly paved, but very steep in many areas. You will cover a total of 461 meters in altitude during the hikes and should therefore pay attention to good footwear.
Climb the Segla, which is considered by many to be the most beautiful mountain on the island of Senja. It is located in almost untouched nature. The best starting point is the tranquil village of Fjordgård. You steadily climb uphill with the summit in sight. Since the path is rocky, good footwear pays off.
A challenging hike awaits you on the Reinebringen summit hike. The tour is only for those sure-footed and free from vertigo, and you will be rewarded with spectacular views when climbing the Reinebringen. Over a distance of 3.2 kilometers, you will hike around 460 meters in elevation, both over stone steps and on partly unsecured paths.
For the tour on the Besseggen ridge, you should bring some fitness. The path is winding and also quite steep. You start in Memurubu at 1,008 m. You can park the car at the boat dock to Gjendesheim. The ascent is via the Bjørnbøltjønne.
The Trolltunga juts about 10 meters straight out horizontally over the lake. In total, you must overcome around 1,450 meters of elevation on the challenging hiking tour to this extraordinary spot. The start and end point is Skjeggedal. From there, it goes through a rugged high mountain region with partially rocky surfaces and numerous stone steps.
The circular hike with the rock plateau of Preikestolen as the highlight of the tour measures 8 kilometers. There are some very steep ascents and an elevation difference of about 500 meters to overcome, so you should plan for at least four hours of hiking time. The tour starts and ends at the Preikestolen Mountain Lodge at the foot of the plateau.
