With its location at the foot of the Albula Pass, La Punt-Chamues was an important traffic hub and significant trading place in the 16th and 17th centuries. The fantastic hotels are open to the general public, and you can always pop in for a hot chocolate to warm up.
The Bernina Pass may be another place you would like to visit. You can even take a ride on the Bernina Express for a show to experience riding on a train as it makes its way through metre high snow drifts during the winter. The train has excellent viewing cars, and a journey is a real treat for the senses.
