Diocletian's Palace
The summer residence of Emperor Diocletian was built in the 4th century AD. It fascinates with the typical neoclassical architectural features. Today, the masonry is preserved in ruins. Some colonnades and the Syrian arch can be admired. An absolute must is to go into the mystically appearing cellars in Diocletian's Palace. These, along with the Peristyle in the center, are the trademark of the complex. The former museum now serves as a Roman Catholic cathedral and the Temple of Jupiter as a baptistery.
