Skagen

Hirtshals

A popular attraction in Hirtshals is the North Sea Oceanarium, the largest aquarium in Northern Europe. Discover the fascinating underwater world of the North Sea. Seals and grey seals frolic in the sealarium, a large open-air area. Enjoy a great view of the harbor, the coast, and the sea from the 35-meter-high lighthouse. In an old fisherman's house from 1880, the Hirtshals Museum tells of the simple life of the fishermen. Learn how farmers and traders lived and worked at the Koebmandsgaard Museum in a 200-year-old trading post in nearby Tornby. The dune plantations Klitplantagen are perfect for hiking and cycling.

Løkken

From the city stroll, head directly to Løkken's beach, known for its numerous bathing huts. A belt of dunes separates the coast with its long sandy beach from the town center. Hjørring

The colorful facades of the houses invite you to stroll along the alleys in Hjørring. Among the most beautiful buildings in the city is the snow-white Katharinenkirche. Art enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the Vendsyssel Art Museum. Embark on a journey through predominantly North Danish art of the 19th and 20th centuries. A rural region surrounds Hjørring and offers many opportunities for long cycling trips. The small town scores with good infrastructure, various shopping options, and dining offerings. It is also an attractive starting point for excursions to the North Sea coast, only about 15 kilometers away, with its wonderfully long and unspoiled beaches.

Sindal

Among the 20 large and small water features in public spaces, the concrete water art by Peter Henze stands out with its five concrete columns and 72 reliefs. You can admire masterful fresco paintings in the sturdy city church from 1910. The historic brick cap windmill with grinding and rolling mills offers a stately sight. At the Højen-Bjørnager Landscape and Agriculture Museum, you can not only learn interesting facts about the region, but families can also participate in practical lessons. Additionally, the extensive museum grounds feature impressive burial mounds from the Stone and Bronze Ages. Hjortdal

Hjortdal is a cozy little village surrounded by a rural environment. You are in the right place if you are looking for a completely relaxed starting point for a nature-oriented vacation in Denmark. There is nothing to stop you from taking extensive bike trips on the mostly flat paths. Hjortdal is barely three kilometers from the North Sea coast. A natural dune belt lines the North Sea beach. In the summer months, a swim in the refreshing water is enticing. But the cooler season also has its charm for active vacationers.
