Lighthouse of Punta Tagliamento

The lighthouse of Punta Tagliamento was built in 1913. During the summer months from April to August, visitors can tour it from the inside. A small exhibition tells its history. To this day, its active beacon serves as a nighttime signal for sailors. The picturesque surroundings of the Bibione lighthouse are perfect for walks, bike rides, or horseback riding. At the lighthouse itself, guests can book boat tours on the Tagliamento River. Its slender tower in white and ocher is also a beautiful photo subject.

Bibione Beach

In Bibione, you can spend a lively beach day in shallow waters. Even the little ones feel perfectly at ease at Lido del Sole. All comforts are provided. You will find sun loungers, umbrellas, bars, and delicious restaurants on the long beaches. But not only beach fans feel comfortable in Bibione. The unique wildlife and plant life of the lagoon with its thatched fisherman's huts is remarkable. Nature lovers will find dreamlike spots and photo opportunities like the Parco Naturale Valgrande National Park, where flamingos even live.

Punta Verde Park

There are 200 species from all continents of the world to admire at the Punta Verde Zoo. Great importance is placed on providing the animals with conditions as close to their natural habitat as possible, including a variety of plants they would find in their native environment. Tigers, alpacas, zebras, and hippos are some of the crowd favorites. During special tours, you can admire giraffes, lemurs, and Seychelles tortoises up close. A bar and a playground are popular meeting points in the zoo.

Big houses

With their reed-thatched pointed roofs, the Casoni evoke old times. In the middle of the wooden-built fishermen's huts was a fireplace, and the wooden beams served as sleeping and seating areas. Until the 1950s, fishermen lived in these dwellings. Today, visitors to Bibione can view the nostalgic Casoni on a trip to one of the lagoons. Some of them still stand on the small islands. From the outside, the historical structure of the fishermen's huts has been preserved. Inside, they are furnished for holiday guests.

Val Grande National Park

Nature and animal lovers can explore the nature park on foot, by bicycle, by kayak, or on horseback. By kayak, you can reach the sea opening and back. With a bit of luck, you might see one of the flamingo colonies. Ancient mosaics can be seen in a Roman villa. Also impressive are the dunes in the Motteron dei Frati area, reaching up to 11 meters above sea level. They form the highest elevations of the northern Adriatic coast.

Market Square

The Piazza Mercato is the marketplace of the coastal town, which extends within walking distance to the beach in the center of Bibione. Directly adjacent to it is the small park Bosco del Sagittario. Be sure to stop by on market days! The city market takes place weekly on the marketplace of Bibione, where you can mingle with the locals. Several times a week, it is also worth visiting the fish market with all sorts of fresh fish specialties from the Adriatic.

Archaeological Area of Aquileia

In fact, Aquileia was once the fourth largest city of the Roman Empire, a fascinating detail that underscores its historical significance.

Concordia Sagittaria

In Bibione, a charming place in Veneto, lies the undiscovered gem Concordia Sagittaria. This place is rich in history and culture, with impressive Roman ruins dating back to the 42nd century BC. Surprisingly, Concordia Sagittaria was once an important trade hub on the Via Annia, an ancient Roman road.

Oasis Vallevecchia of Brussa

Bibione is home to a hidden gem, the Oasis Vallevecchia of Brussa. This nature reserve is a paradise for bird watchers, with over 150 different species calling it home. Surprisingly, it is also the home of a rare plant, the water lily, which is usually only found in tropical waters.

Portogruaro

Portogruaro is a charming city not far from Bibione, known for its historic old town and cultural treasures. The city is located on the Lemene River, whose water flows through picturesque canals and shapes the cityscape. Particularly worth seeing is the Piazza della Repubblica with the impressive 13th-century town hall, which with its battlements reminds one of a fortress.

Day 1

Your first day in Bibione begins with a walk along the main promenade leading to the long, golden beach. Bibione is known for its fine sand and crystal-clear water, which has been awarded the Blue Flag for its quality. Rent a sun lounger and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. For the active, there is the option to play beach volleyball or try water sports like windsurfing or stand-up paddling. At lunchtime, you can try light dishes like bruschetta or fresh salads at one of the beachside eateries. The afternoon is perfect for a walk along the coast to the Bibione lighthouse. The picturesque path leads through dune landscapes and pine forests – an ideal opportunity to enjoy nature and take beautiful souvenir photos. End the day with dinner at a traditional restaurant. Try local specialties like Risotto di Mare or fresh grilled fish, accompanied by a glass of Prosecco from the Veneto region.

Day 2

On the second day, nature takes center stage. Start with a visit to the Bibione Lagoon, a unique ecosystem with an impressive array of wildlife and plants. Take a guided bike tour or a boat trip to discover the beauty of the lagoon and enjoy the tranquility of this place. Day 3

Your last day in Bibione begins with a cultural excursion. Visit the nearby town of Portogruaro, known for its medieval old town. Stroll through the alleys, admire the old palaces, and visit the weekly market where you can discover regional products such as cheese, olive oil, and wine. Back in Bibione, you can enjoy a light lunch with Italian classics like spaghetti alle vongole. In the afternoon, a walk or bike ride along the Tagliamento River is recommended. This route offers beautiful views of nature and is especially popular with bird watchers. To conclude your trip, a special dinner is on the agenda. Try local delicacies like cuttlefish in squid ink sauce or fine antipasti with seafood. Accompany the meal with a glass of wine from the region, such as the well-known white wine Pinot Grigio. Bibione - Climate

Bibione on the Adriatic coast has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers up to 30°C and mild winters with at least 6°C. The bathing season starts in May and lasts until October. The sea water temperature is highest in July and August, averaging around 25°C. The average temperature in summer is about 24°C, in May it is about 18°C, and in September 20°C. The most sunshine hours are in June and July. From October, temperatures drop to 15°C and rainfall increases, especially in winter.
