Gorropu Gorge

The route directly through the gorge begins in Ponte sa Barva and leads back there after a total of 12.2 kilometers. In total, you cover almost 500 meters in altitude and can expect a duration of more than four hours. The hikers follow the picturesque river course of the Rio Flumineddu. During your hikes through the Gola di Gorropu gorge, you walk along cliffs up to 300 meters high in places and enjoy the pleasant coolness. In general, the summer months are considered the most popular season for tours through the gorge, but from April to October, the climate is already well-suited for it.

Cala Fuili to Cala Luna

The remote location of Cala Luna beach contributes to its unique charm. The shape of the beach resembles a crescent moon - hence its name. From Cala Fuili beach, a challenging hiking trail leads to Cala Luna. The route runs above the coast and is relatively hilly. The path is about 6 kilometers long, and you should allow 2 to 2.5 hours. If you wish, make a detour to the Grotta del Bue Marino. Throughout your hike, you will have the opportunity to descend to the coast and discover idyllic coves.

Hiking on Monte Tejalone

With a height of 212 meters, Monte Tejalone is the highest elevation on the island. The path to the summit is relatively short, but due to some gravel paths and high stone steps, surefootedness and good physical condition are prerequisites. The hiking trail starts at the northwestern foot of the mountain. After about half a kilometer of uphill walking, it continues on stone steps to the summit. The total length of the outward and identical return path is barely more than two kilometers. Plan a comfortable half-hour for each way and take ample time to enjoy the fantastic panoramic view.

Tour through the Valle della Luna

The Valle della Luna unfolds its full magical beauty in the moonlight, which is how it got its name. The circular hiking trail through the legendary valley is 5.7 kilometers long and takes about 3 hours. Start at the parking lot and follow the trail through scrub and rocks. At the beginning of the valley, you will come across a small spring. Continue to the end of the valley to Cala dell'Indiano and further past granite rocks and caves. Shortly before the end of the hike, you will encounter a lighthouse, from whose viewing platform you can see all the way to Corsica.

Tower Capo Falcone Round

The Torre Capo Falcone loop begins in the fishing village of Stintino. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere in the historic harbor before the hike, you can enjoy your cappuccino with a view of the crystal-clear sea and the white sandy beach. Strengthened, you start at the town hall and first walk along the edge of the forest over Monte della Crocetta. Then follows a path through a typical Mediterranean forest. This consists of fragrant shrubs and low trees. Along the way, you will repeatedly reach spots where bird watching is possible. The Monte del Falcone, the Falcon Tower, blends majestically into the sea backdrop and offers you a breathtaking view over the island.

Round tour in the Monte Limbara massif

The spectacular circular tour, for which you should plan four hours, takes you over the peaks of the Monte Limbara massif. The starting point is the Vallicciola parking lot, from where well-marked paths initially lead through a pine forest. Then the landscape opens up, revealing impressive rock formations. Stony paths lead to the elevation of the waypoint Giugantinu 2. Enjoy the view over Tempio Pausania and Gallura. For hikers without fear of heights, a 20-minute detour to the summit is possible. The return path leads past the Madonna della Neve church back to the starting point.

Tour to the Old Castle

Casteddu Etzu, built in the early Middle Ages, rises on a basalt hill, the namesake Montiferru. The mountain is of volcanic origin, which explains its rugged landscape. The expansive view over Sardinia is spectacular and will certainly compensate you for the somewhat steep climb to the ruins. The ascent to Casteddu Etzu starts at the foot of the castle hill near the island town of Cuglieri. The total distance for the ascent and descent back to the starting point is barely more than a kilometer. Numerous stairs lead up the rugged slope to the summit, so despite the short distance, fitness and surefootedness are required.

Monte Arcuentu Way of the Cross

The starting point of the tour is the parking lot at Agriturismo Arcuentu. Initially still moderate, the route quickly becomes steeper and more demanding and includes some climbing sections. To reach the summit, where a castle once stood, surefootedness and a head for heights are required. Along the Way of the Cross, there are 12 stations and information boards. At the end of the Way of the Cross, there is a small place of worship, after which it goes up to the high plateau. Once at the top, hikers are rewarded with a breathtaking view for the strenuous ascent. Downwards, the path leads at station two to the left along the rock face, from where it goes downhill back to the starting point.
