Castle of Saint Esteve

The site was already settled in ancient times, as evidenced by some finds from the Roman period. The castle itself was built north of Palamos in the 13th century and was only actively used for a few decades before being converted into a farmhouse. Today, the foundations are mostly still preserved and offer a spectacular sight. After your hike to Castell De Sant Esteve, you will be rewarded with numerous impressive photo opportunities and a breathtaking panoramic view of the Mediterranean.

Lighthouse of Palamos

The landmark of the harbor is the lighthouse. It is visible from most nearby cafes and is considered a popular photo subject. Since its construction in 1865, it has been continuously in operation and is famous for its typical architecture. Almost the entire lighthouse is kept in white, so the black dome with the signal lights stands out clearly. From here, you can enjoy a view over the Mediterranean Sea, the rocky cliffs along the coast, and the passing cruise ships.

Palamós Promenade

The Passeig de Palamós stretches along the beach for about 4 kilometers. Several coves branch off from the promenade, suitable for swimming. Bathers should consider wearing water shoes, as the entry is rocky. Walking the promenade towards the Torre Valentina, a historic tower greeting from afar, one reaches a wilder piece of coast with steep cliffs. On the way back, visitors can refresh themselves at the numerous dining establishments on the Passeig.

Fishing Museum

The museum's permanent exhibition not only introduces visitors to the development of fishing but also to the unique lifestyle of the local people shaped by fishing. The location of the exhibition is also extraordinary: the exhibits are housed on two floating boats in the harbor. The museum includes the fish room in the fish auction hall of Palamós. Experience the bustling auction of the freshly landed catch in the morning. Those interested can attend the show cooking and prepare dishes themselves under guidance. Of course, hearty meals are also enjoyed.

Platja Gran de Palamós

The large beach of Palamós stretches over almost 600 meters from the beautiful harbor along the town. You will find a beach with fine, soft sand that gently slopes into the sea, providing ideal beach conditions for families with children. Thanks to accessible entrances and a ramp, people with limited mobility also feel comfortable at Palamós Beach. There is a children's playground, sunbed rental, beach aerobics, and water sports opportunities. Along the beautiful promenade, restaurants, bars, and cafés invite you to linger with a sea view.

La Fosca Beach

Platja de La Fosca is located in the Spanish town of Palamós on the Costa Brava, within sight of the ruins of the Sant Esteve de Mar castle. The sea is clear and shallow, making it particularly suitable for swimming and snorkeling. The beach is characterized by a pretty little rock in the water, which contributes to a cozy atmosphere. Paddling is also particularly popular here. There are refreshments available for purchase and a parking lot nearby.
