The Sjeverna City Gate is a historic city gate from the 17th century. As the northern city gate, it still forms the entrance from the mainland to the old town, which is uniquely situated on a small island.
The city loggia is a whole century older than the bell tower. In the past, it served as a meeting place. In the 15th century, the loggia was adorned with reliefs and sculptures by Venetian artists under the influence of the Republic of Venice.
In the southwest of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town of Trogir, the Kaštel Kamerlengo towers over a palm-lined waterfront promenade. The massive fortress was built around 1420 under Venetian rule and served both for defense against external attacks and against uprisings from within.
The impressive church was built between the years 1213 and 1251 in the Romanesque style. The interior, however, is Gothic and characterized by numerous elaborate decorations. The altar and the ciborium, in particular, are very worth seeing.
