Open kitchen (oven, dishwasher, 4 ceramic glass hob hotplates, toaster, kettle, microwave, electric coffee machine, Capsules for coffee machine (Nespresso) extra, fondue Set (cheese)). On the lower ground floor: 1 room with 1 double bed (1 x 150 cm, length 200 cm). 1 room with 2 beds (90 cm, length 200 cm). Shower/WC, bath/shower/WC. Terrace. Terrace furniture. Very beautiful view of the mountains. Facilities: washing machine, dryer, hair dryer. Internet (WiFi, free). Please note: non-smokers only.

Apartment block "Roossi", built in 2005. 600 m from the centre of Wengen, in a quiet, sunny position on a slope. In the house: central heating system. Pre-arrival grocery service. Shop, supermarket 600 m, restaurant 300 m, bar, bakery 600 m, 7 minute walk to the centre, bus stop "Lauterbrunnen (by train)" 3.6 km, railway station "Wengen" 600 m, outdoor swimming pool 800 m. Cable car, skisport facilities 600 m, children's playground 350 m. Please note: car-free holiday complex. Arrival via mountain railway. Arrival is only possible by train from Lauterbrunnen – 14 minutes driving time.

Location Description Wengen

1'274 m a.s.l. >>Famous, idyllic, car-free holiday resort with 1'300 inhabitants, on top of a hill, situated at the foot of a mountain, on a plateau with beautiful view, 12 km from Interlaken, 15 km from Grindelwald. In the resort: shops, grocery, bakery, post office, bank, restaurant, night club, cinema. Wellness centre. Besides: doctor. Sights Männlichen, Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn, Trümmelbachfälle, Schynige Platte, Harder, First. Access: no access to the resort by car, reachable only by railway. The journey is made by rack railway (extra) from Lauterbrunnen. Parking spaces available at the train station.

Summer

Heated outdoor swimming pool. Tennis (2 outdoor courts). Minigolf. Paragliding. Mountain lifts, cableways, hiking paths, mountain hikes, mountain tours, climbing, children's hiking paths. Mountain bikes for hire. Children's playground.

Winter

Ski-region Jungfrau-Top Ski Region, total of 43 lifts. Total 213 km ski runs (30 % easy, 50 % intermediate, 20 % difficult), snow park. Ski school (downhill), snowboard school, children's ski school, ski kindergarten. Winter walking paths 50 km. 4 toboggan runs. Artificial ice rink, curling. Free parking space for skis and ski boots at Central Sport.

Very nice, clean, roomy home with a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and a cozy living area to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful window view. Made use of the separate washing machine and the separate dryer. The apartment is within easy walking distance from the train station but stairs are required to reach it. The walk back is steep. One enters on the upper level of the apartment and both bathrooms are located on the lower level-the stairs may be steep for some. Highly recommend!

Pros: located in a wonderful village, quiet yet central. Great views from the house and big windows. Dyson fan was very useful. Cons: Rooms are very small, need to move furniture around to be able to open the windows or furniture doors. Needs a little TLC and paint, with lots of scratches and nicks on the walls, and spiders and webs on a few windows. Need curtains, even if some doors have outside shutters; somebody opened one shutter and saw directly into our bedroom while we were there!

We loved our stay here. This was a beautiful area and the apartment was spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were well equipped and the laundry room was very nice to have. Grocery and restaurants are nearby. There are some hills/stairs. There was a heat wave happening while we were there. Since A/C is not usually needed in the Swiss mountains, it would be nice to have some portable fans to help when it does get hot. Not being able to move air around in the apartment is my only complaint.

Die Wohnung ist grundsätzlich gut, die beiden Schlafzimmer unten sind jedoch sehr klein, die Treppe hat an der offenen Seite keine Sicherung. man sollte eine Erklärung auslegen, wie man die Türen zum Strasse hin öffnet, das ist nicht leicht und völlig unüblich.
